miner Edison Peña, one of 33 who were rescued from a mine in Chile, after spending 69 days underground, became the Latin Character of the Year in the U.S.. Peña's recent presence in the United States stressed the existing media attraction in metal workers. Miner not only participated in the successful show host David Letterman, but also ran the New York Marathon last November 8, completing the circuit but was injured his knee.
To make matters worse, due to his fondness for the music of Elvis Presley, the miner was invited, in addition, to visit the traditional home of the singer in Memphis in January 2011.
